The Tutoring Session

Tutoring Sessions: During the first tutoring session, I will assess the student’s level of Spanish ability and determine specific areas for improvement.  Any recent tests/quizzes, homework, or information from the student’s Spanish teacher will help me greatly.  For subsequent sessions, any class work or homework that the student has done or needs to do should be brought to the session for review or use in instruction.  The student should always bring his or her Spanish textbook, workbook, and/or any class notes, study sheets, or worksheets to the tutoring session.

Frequency of Sessions: Typically, I meet with students once per week for one hour.  In the week(s) prior to major exams I strongly recommend meeting at least twice, or more if the student needs extra help and we can arrange time to do so.  Most of my students have found it helpful to continue tutoring through the school year, even if they see improvement early on.
